MRS. JAMES KERR PASSES AWAY
"Mrs. James Kerr,79, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs George Dustrude, on Wednesday evening, July 24. She had been ailing for the past several years, but had been seriously ill for the past six months, most of the time being in a semi-conscious condition.
Mrs. Kerr was born in Merton, February 27, 1861. She was the oldest daughter of the late Jerome Merrick and Mary Bull Merrick. Following the Civil War, she, with her parents and two sisters, went to Michigan to live. When, at the age of 16, her mother having passed away, she came back to Merton to live with her grandparents and her life has been spent in this county ever since.
On November 21, 1880, she was united in marriage to James Kerr, in Delafield. For a short time after her marriage, her home was in Delafield shortly after they moved to Hartland, where she since made her home.
She was a loyal and devoted member of Grace Church.
She was the mother of five sons and one daughter. One son, Mason, preceded her in death five years ago. Those surviving are Earl, of Milwaukee, James of St. Paul; Hobart of Chicago: Horace, of Calumet, Minnesota; and Mrs. Beryl Dustrude, of this village. She is further survived by a sister, Mrs Daisy Ingrim, of Butte, Montana, who had spent recent months here, but returned because of her health, and by 11 grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 2o'clock Sunday afternoon in Grace Church. Interment will be in the village cemetery."

"Mrs. James Kerr died early Thursday morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Dustrude. Mrs. Kerr, Hartland, had been confined to her bed since March 10 of this year. Mrs. Kerr was born Mary Elizabeth Merrick, the oldest daughter of Jerome Merrick of Merton town, Feb. 27, 1861. She was married to James Kerr of Hartland Nov. 2, 1880. Mr. Kerr and a son, Charles Mason Kerr, preceded her in death several years ago. She is survived by four sons and one daughter namely, Earl of Milwaukee, Hobert of Chicago, Ill., James and Horace of Minnesota and Beryl, Mrs. George Dutrude of Hartland, eleven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Daisy Ingrim of Butte, Montana.
The funeral will be Sunday afternoon from Marshall's funeral parlors to Grace Episcopal church with burial in the Hartland village cemetery."
