Good health, not crippled, height 5ft 11ins, pale complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, no distinguishing marks. Born Nottingham, England.

     Claude is understood to have been employed at the Studebaker Motor Factory in Detroit.


     Even though he was making 'permanent entry' he soon came back and married a couple of years or so later.


     Henry Claude Shardlow, son of George Shardlow and Mary Ann Ware, was married to Grace Mary Maud Moore, daughter of Henry Lewis Moore and Sarah Elizabeth, on Tuesday, 7 August 1923 at St. Ann's Church, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.
     St. Ann's Church Marriage Register - "Henry Claude Shardlow, 26 years, Bachelor, Iron Turner of 22 Jackson Street, son of George Shardlow, Iron Turner & Grace Mary Maud Moore, 24 years, Spinster of 28 Jackson Street, daughter of Henry Lewis Moore, Lace Maker. By Banns. Witnessed by John Edward Moore & Kitty Moore."6

     Henry Claude Shardlow was left a Widower at the age of 74, on the death of his wife, Grace on 17 January 1970 in Derby, Derbyshire.

     Henry Claude Shardlow, son of George Shardlow and Mary Ann Ware, died on Friday, 2 April 1971, in Alvaston, Derbyshire,"age 75 years."7 Henry Claude Shardlow was buried in St. Mary's Church, Boulton, Derbyshire,
