"All my Freehold and Copyhold Messuages, Farm, Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments situated in Ashleyhay, now or late in the tenure or occupation of Samuel Greatorex and William Greatorex or others... Also Copyhold Lands commonly known as Kings Fields in the Township of Wirksworth now or late in my own occupation... Also copyhold Messuage or tenement now divided and occupied as a Grocer's and Cordwainer's Houses and Shops now or late in the tenure or occupation of my son Joseph Tipper and Timothy Clark situated near the Market Place, Wirksworth."
These and his other assetts are passed to his trustees, the property to be sold. £400 is to be invested to pay interest to his wife Martha in her lifetime, unless she remarries. She is also willed all his farming stock, household furniture and personal effects. The residue to be divided amongst his five children William, Joseph, Martha, Mary and Elizabeth. After his wife's death or remarriage, of the £400, his son William receives £100 and the balance is to be divided equally amongst William and his four siblings. The tenet right of the farm he occupies under George Greaves Esq. is passed to his wife and after to his son William. William Tipper was a Beneficiary of the Will of William Tipper written in 1834; A probate copy of William's Will, made on 15 April 1834 is held at the Matlock Records Office. It refers to -
"All my Freehold and Copyhold Messuages, Farm, Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments situated in Ashleyhay, now or late in the tenure or occupation of Samuel Greatorex and William Greatorex or others... Also Copyhold Lands commonly known as Kings Fields in the Township of Wirksworth now or late in my own occupation... Also copyhold Messuage or tenement now divided and occupied as a Grocer's and Cordwainer's Houses and Shops now or late in the tenure or occupation of my son Joseph Tipper and Timothy Clark situated near the Market Place, Wirksworth."
These and his other assetts are passed to his trustees, the property to be sold. £400 is to be invested to pay interest to his wife Martha in her lifetime, unless she remarries. She is also willed all his farming stock, household furniture and personal effects. The residue to be divided amongst his five children William, Joseph, Martha, Mary and Elizabeth. After his wife's death or remarriage, of the £400, his son William receives £100 and the balance is to be divided equally amongst William and his four siblings. The tenet right of the farm he occupies under George Greaves Esq. is passed to his wife and after to his son William. The Executors: Joseph Bowmer of Wigwell, Yeoman and Gill Pickard of Wirksworth, Glazier.3

On the back of a postcard of Cubley Church David Hall's father has pencilled what appear to be details from a gravestone, presumably in the churchyard there - these details were confirmed later (Dec'2000) by microfiche of MI's for Cubley, St. Andrew's Churchyard :- ref.CubMi.179 :
"Sacred/ to the memory of/ FLORENCE,/ wife of BENJAMIN BULL/ She died May 13th 1848 :/ Aged 47 years./ Her end was peace/ Also JANE, their/ daughter/ She died April 6th 1833/ aged 15 months" (The inscription is in good condition. The gravestone’s top r.h.corner has been broken, but rejoined with a cemented repair.)4,5
