     Elvie Herd states that Jane, his wife, died in the Macclesfield Lunatic Asylum of Heart Disease and Gangrene of the Lung, the Death was reported by their eldest son, William. Thomas was described as a Navvy on her Death Certificate. It looks as though he moved back to Cheadle after Jane's death, there being little to keep him in Cheshire.3
