Walter Needham, of the Star Inn, Siddals Lane, was charged with having, on the race-course, on the same day (31 August), 17 defective quart and 23 defective pint earthenware measures in his possesion, - Fined £5 and costs. - In 1868 for a similar offence on the racecourse, he was fined 20/- and costs on 14 September 1870.8
