Frederick was cast out of the Eaton family in 1924 for marrying Nellie Tomlinson. Ray (Peter's father) told me that both his father and grandfather belonged to the Mechanics Institute or Engineering Union or some such and as a lad Ray was sometimes taken along. The elders never spoke! Nellie was considered far below the Eatons! She had a wonderful singing voice and went round the churches and concert halls as guest soloist. Ray followed in her footsteps as a young boy. I haven't found the two sisters as I don't know their names although one is the M. M. Clarke who was informant on the death of her father - probably Maria. Heather Eaton.5
