     Thomas Arthur Smart and Evelyn Grace Smart moved to 88 Cheltenham Road, Gloucester in 1942 when Thomas took a job at Rotol in Churchdown. Rotol made propellers for aircraft and was fundamental to the war effort. He continued to be employed by the Dowty Group, who took Rotol over, until his retirement.12

     Thomas Arthur Smart was left a Widower on the Death of his wife, Evelyn, whose Death was Registered in the Gloucester Registration District, in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1980.13
