     I have not been able to locate any existing evidence of military service for Fred Tipper Clarke in WWI, the records were extensivley damaged in WWII, but close examintion of a photograph shows that his rank was Lance Corporal and his Cap Badge is that of a member of the Army Ordnance Corp.¹⁰
