Two of the other daughters married a Mr Prior and a Mr J Holland. Mr J Hollands father was also J Holland.
He was a great organiser of concerts and sports in Ipstones and he was a great lover of music and painting and painted many landscapes & churches.
Local legend says that he used to sell them and buy alcohol with the money.
His paintings are fetching about £300 at the moment (2001).
He also trained the Berkamsytch Church Orchestra.
(memo : my Mam put it rather more succinctly - she used to say that "Austin Hammersley was a nice painter, but unfortunately he was a drunkard".

My uncle, Bill WETHERHILL had a small watercolour by Austin - of Potlock House Findern actually - which I remember well : I think his son John must have it now) David Hall - 2004.1
