     In the 1851 it is believed that Ann has been given the wrong Surname and Marital Condition. We believe that it should have been entered as Ann Tipper Sister Unmarried     55 --- STS. Cheadle, this would fit better with other Census Returns in which she appears. Although we make the assumption that Ann had been married to John Mountford, had John died? did the marriage not work out? and did Ann revert to her maiden name.⁹

     The Marriage details to John Mountford are correct but not confirmed that the Bride is 'our' Ann. It is a fact though that 'our' Ann had 2 siblings who married in Bucknall and therefore the degree of probability is high.
