Elizabeth Bailey accompanied William Bailey and emigrated to Australia in 1870. They departed from Liverpool travelling on vessel "Flying Cloud" on 4 June 1870 and arrived at Maryborough on 2 September 1870; This passage is described as 'one of the fastest on record.7'

Manifest -      aged 27 years.

It is not yet known when and why the family returned to England, but they probably travelled after the birth of their son Arthur.
I note that during the family's probable time back in England, William's father - Barnabas Bailey, died. It would be nice to speculate that William would have been able to attend the funeral, as almost certainly he and Elizabeth would have visited their Birth villages at sometime.8
