     It is my opinion that the following Marriage details are what 'actually took place'. The entry recorded in FreeBMD shows that a 'George' Tipper was Married to Emma 'Forister'.
I have also used the 'FORRESTER' spelling of their surname in identifying the family although the spelling does vary in several documents. In the transcriptions I have entered as spelled.1

     All Saints Church Marriage Register - "Annice Tipper, a Spinster, aged 39 years of Alsop Street, Leek, daughter of William Tipper, a deceased Millwright was Married to William Swinson, a Widower, aged 47 years, a Stonemason of Derby, son of Thomas Swinson, a Tube Maker. Witnessed by George Tipper (William Swinson was the brother of George Tipper's wife Esther Ann nee Swinson)."3,4,5

          In the 1901 U.K.Census, held on Sunday, 31 March 1901, William was recorded as the Head of the Household at the Alton Castle Inn, Tape Street, Cheadle, Staffordshire, also in the Household were Annice Swinson plus 5 children from his first Marriage,

     William Swinson, son of Thomas Swinson and Emma Ford, died in 1905 in Cheadle, Staffordshire, his Death was Registered at the Cheadle Register Office in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1905, He was survived by his wife, Annice.7
